Sarah and Adam

Our Story

Sarah and Adam

Boston College

We met during our sophomore year at Boston College in the fall of 2003. Adam was friends with some of Sarah’s new roommates and would frequently visit her dorm room. We quickly became friends and had many adventures exploring Boston together.

Beacon Hill

We still love traveling and exploring. Adam can find something interesting to do just about anywhere. We are constantly finding new things to explore in Boston and have traveled to London, Italy, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon and Washington D.C., to name a few.

National Champions
Football

Our other great love is all things Boston College sports. Most weekends in the winter and early spring you will find us either at our season tickets in Section OO at Kelley Rink watching Boston College’s national championship hockey team, at an away hockey game or listening to an internet feed of a hockey game. One of the true testaments of our relationship is that Adam voluntarily sits next to Sarah at BC hockey games. We also love BC football and basketball, however, this website is about happiness and hope for the future, so we won’t talk about those sports.

Raoul and Aloe

We currently live in the Coolidge Corner neighborhood of Brookline. While we are not allowed to have a dog, we do have a pet guard pig named Raoul, aloe plants, which we have managed not to kill, and an assortment of BC gnomes.

Boston Back Bay

We both work in downtown Boston; within a few minutes walk of our wedding reception venue. Although we often complain about how much we hate the “T” and how annoying Boston and Bostonians can be, we truly love our adoptive city. We are so excited to be able to share our love of Boston with all of our guests!

Engagement

Sunset Beach

Sarah dropped a number of not too subtle hints about how she wanted Adam to propose. Adam’s family has been going to Sunset Beach, North Carolina for years, and “the beach” holds a lot of meaning for us. Sarah thought that a proposal on the beach would be memorable and romantic.

Ring Pop

Of course, Adam had other ideas. In the months leading up to the proposal, Adam told Sarah that he was going to get her a promise ring instead of a diamond ring like she wanted. Not just any promise ring, but a ring pop promise ring. We joked about this for months. As usual, Sarah could not really tell if Adam was being serious or not.

Engagement Ring

Then for Christmas of 2010, we traveled down to Sunset Beach. Sarah was excited and nervous, wondering if Adam was going to propose on the beach like she wanted. On December 22nd while walking on the beach, Adam told Sarah that he had a question to ask her. However, instead of pulling out a diamond ring, Adam pulled out a ring pop. What happened next is slightly contested. Sarah maintains that she may have started yelling at Adam. Adam claims Sarah just stared at him, fuming. Sarah was contemplating drowning Adam in the ocean, so maybe that has altered her memory. A short or maybe long time later (depending on who you ask), Adam took the ring pop back. He then pulled out a ring box wrapped in ring pop wrapper and told Sarah she might like this ring better. She did and told Adam that she would marry him.

Engaged

Luckily for Adam, Sarah did not throw him in the ocean after all.
